Getting here
From Kottayam
67 km, 2 hours: Kottayam → Pala → Erattupetta → Teekoy → Vagamon, then on towards Pullikanam. It uses the classic Vagamon hill road.
From Moovattupuzha
58 km, 1 hour 40 min: Moovattupuzha → Thodupuzha → Moolamattom → Pullikanam. This road comes in from the Pullikanam side, so you reach the property without driving through Vagamon town.
From Ernakulam
107 km 3 hours: Mulanthuruthy → Piravom → Pala → Erattupetta → Teekoy → Vagamon.
Alternate route: Moovattupuzha → Thodupuzha → Moolamattom → Pullikanam.
By bus
KSRTC and private buses run to Vagamon from Kottayam, Erattupetta and Thodupuzha. There are fewer services in the evening.From Vagamon bus stand, take an auto-rickshaw or taxi. It’s best to call the property to arrange a pickup.
By train
Kottayam (KTYM) is the nearest major station, about 65 km or 2 to 2.5 hours. Take a taxi via Pala → Erattupetta → Teekoy → Vagamon.
Ernakulam (ERS) or Aluva (AWY) are better for trains from the north. Both are about 3 hours away via Thodupuzha.
By air
Kochi International Airport (COK) is the nearest airport, about 75 km in a straight line and roughly 3 to 3.5 hours by road.
Good to know
- Arrive in daylight. The route to Vagamon has steep hairpin bends, and fog often sets in after about 4 pm, especially during rainy season.
- Fill up on fuel and cash in Thodupuzha or Erattupetta, because there aren’t any pumps in Vagamon. The nearest ATM is in Vagamon town.
- Save the location offline. Mobile signal can be patchy, and BSNL and Jio usually work best.
- Any car works, including a sedan, since the roads are paved and the property is on one of the main roads to Vagamon, but drive slowly in wet weather.
